Formscan By Tom Weekes - BLACK SCORPION has plenty weight here but might be able to win from his current rating with a return to this trip likely to suit. A dual point to point winner, he won his hunters chase last season and looks likely to win a handicap of this nature with some more progression possible and his rider again taking off 7lbs. Simple Steps is herself a dual points winner but has yet to win on the track. She was well held on her last run last season but has some claims on previous form. Dorkas stays well and likes testing ground but may not be ahead of the handicapper while Carole Rose and Presenting Beara both have form at this level and cannot be dismissed. King’s Song has his first start for Gordon Elliott having been bought for %A312,500 in August. He was well exposed but was a three-times winner in Britain and could win races in Ireland from his low enough rating, with the booking of Jamie Codd a positive.
