Going - Soft (Soft To Heavy in Places). Overcast

Formscan By Gary Carson - It's hard to argue with the form of BRIGHT NEW DAWN and he looks the one they have to beat. He ran a cracker last time at Leopardstown when chasing home Champagne Fever in Grade One company and a repeat of that or his previous run when third to Jezki at the same course over two miles sets a serious standard. The slight step up in trip here looks like it should benefit him also. Touch The Eden looked very smart when making a winning start over hurdles here last November. Willie Mullins stated then that he had a few problems and he may not be the easiest to train given that he hasn't run again since. But he also said he has shown them plenty which is surely noteworthy given the talent he has at his disposal. It also looks significant that Ruby Walsh takes the mount here with the other Mullins runner, Reine Angevine, a decent sort herself. He could be a big danger. Rory O'Moore will no doubt blaze a trail here but at this level it's unlikely he'll be able to slip this field. Venture Capital was beaten by a progressive type in Inish Island at Clonmel last time and looks to have place prospects in this grade.
