Formscan By John O'Riordan - FLEUR IN THE PARK can land this valuable prize for local trainer Andrew Slattery. Grade 1 placed over hurdles as a novice last season, the Walk In The Park gelding has taken really well to fences this term. Just touched off in stronger company at Punchestown when last seen, the seven-year-old can regain the winning thread. Lightly raced former point-to-point winner Soldier In Milan rates the main danger. Off the mark in a Punchestown bumper on his Rules debut, connections wasted little time in switching his attention to chasing. Having made the breakthrough over fences last time, the Emmet Mullins-trained gelding commands respect. Jalila Moriviere and C'Est Ta Chance also boast leading claims in a competitive affair.

Quotes on Barry Lyndon (IRE)
It’s the first time he’s jumped on grass so hopefully he’ll improve plenty from it. He said he had a good blow so hopefully it’s onwards and upwards. We might step him up in trip as well. The plan was to get going steady, get him a lead and get him jumping. That was the main objective today. He seemed to put in a good round of jumping and that’s a big help. We’ll look for a winners’ contest or a novice. He will improve and hopefully he can improve enough to get in with the big boys. We’ll see what happens. After Barry Lyndon (IRE) finished 1st at Fairyhouse on Sat, 11th Oct 2025 2m 5f Chase Yielding

Quotes on C'est Ta Chance (FR)
This is usually a Bermuda Triangle race for me and this horse just seemed to drop the bridle coming down the hill. Once I got daylight, he hit another gear, though. His jumping would need to sharpen up a bit, but I think he'll improve plenty from it. I think there is a lot of room for improvement. He had a good first run last year and we think he is better than his latest two runs, so hopefully he will make into a graded horse. After C'est Ta Chance (FR) finished 1st at Clonmel on Tue, 3rd Dec 2024 2m 3f Maiden Hurdle Yielding

Quotes on Fleur In The Park (IRE)
He was only about 80% fit in Gowran (second on chase debut). He wasn't ready there. He cantered down to the third-last and just blew up. We knew he'd improved a lot. . Henry de Bromhead (trains Gowran winner Taponthego) said to me that he is a two-miler and he could be right. He could be just a two-mile chaser as he jumps so well. To get over a beginners chase in Ireland is a hard thing. The runner-up is rated145. . We could go travelling with him. Somewhere like Ascot, where there is a lot of jumping. We won't run him for a month anyway. I didn't want to tempt faith and make a plan before today. . We always thought he'd be better over fences and hopefully he will be. He used to jump hurdles too big. . I was actually not going to run him today because of the ground. I was going to run him in a Grade 3 at Cork on Sunday over two-and-a-half. They are probably as easy to win as a beginners chase. . We'll make a plan now after this and it's nice to have him. After Fleur In The Park (IRE) finished 1st at Wexford on Mon, 27th Oct 2025 2m Chase Yielding

Quotes on Nowwhatdoyouthink (IRE)
That is more of what he is capable of, Liam gave him a great ride and let him feel like he was the best horse. He can think about it a little when he is in front but Liam held on to him great and didn't really go for him. There is a big engine but putting it all in is the thing. We'll take today and he'll go somewhere at Christmas next. Although he is only a novice, I was thinking about the Tim Duggan Memorial at Limerick as he has a load of experience. After Nowwhatdoyouthink (IRE) finished 1st at Cork on Sun, 23rd Nov 2025 2m 5f Chase Yielding to Soft

Quotes on Soldier In Milan (IRE)
It was a nice performance. He’s still a bit green and babyish, I suppose he hasn’t had too much racing under his belt. It was nice to see when Paul ranged up, and Donagh sat down on his back, that there seemed to be plenty there. Hopefully it’s onwards and upwards. He’s a big brute and we said we’d crack on and go chasing for fear he got injured and you’d be losing a year over hurdles. This is his game, three miles and staying tests and soft ground. He fences very well for a relative novice. He has an entry in the Brown Advisory, and I think I’ve entered him in the two novice handicaps at Cheltenham as well so we’ve plenty of options. We’ll mull over Cheltenham strongly. After Soldier In Milan (IRE) finished 1st at Punchestown on Sun, 15th Feb 2026 2m 6f Chase Heavy
