Formscan By Eamonn Murphy - Classy jumps mare Sullane River comes to mind when one sees the Lucey name in the ownership ranks, and GEE REX could get the predominantly yellow silks to the number one spot here for Emmet Mullins and Colin Keane. Sullane River won nine races in the 90s but Gee Rex has yet to contribute a win since joining these connections. He wasn’t helped by a stumble at the start when a gamble for the Lincoln at the Curragh in March, whilst last time there was no apparent excuse for his odds-on eclipse at Ballinrobe. The Requinto gelding has been worth sticking with through his career, eventually making the breakthrough at the 18th time of asking, and adding three wins since. It’ll be interesting to see what champion jockey Keane can get out of Gee Rex, on his first time to take the reins. First and second over track and trip 16 days ago, So I Told You and Hamley are among the dangers.
