The old warrior will doubtless get an attacking ride from Donie McInerney and is a hard horse to pass when he’s in good form. By contrast, Rubiana was patiently-ridden at Downpatrick and came through for an easy first racecourse success with Cantkidakidder and Court Adjourned well behind. Up 8lbs for that, she just sneaks into this race off the ceiling rating but very soft ground would be a worry. Glenquin Castle ran okay a couple of times over hurdles and might be a contender if jumping better than on handicap debut here earlier in the month.
