Formscan By Donal Murphy - It's impossible to know what would have transpired in the Champion Chase at Cheltenham had DOUVAN not departed four out, but he seemed to be really enjoying himself there, and he should be able to gain some compensation now. Patrick Mullins was aboard eight-year-old at Prestbury Park, and he later reported: "He jumped so fantastically well and we got into such a lovely rhythm. I don't think I've ever had a feeling like that off a horse before. It felt like he was only doing a half-speed and he was feeling fantastic but he just guessed at it (the fourth last)." Willie Mullins of course trains the selection, and he has a very strong hand here with Min and Un De Sceaux also in the mix. The former has filled the runner-up spot on his last two starts at Cheltenham and Aintree respectively, and another bold bid can be expected from him now. Un De Sceaux looked fortunate to win at Fairyhouse last time out, but it would still come as little surprise if he managed to win again now. Doctor Phoenix looks the only serious danger to the Mullins trio. He looked set to claim the scalp of Un De Sceaux at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday, only for coming to grief two out. He gets a chance to right that wrong now, and it'll be interesting to see if he can prevent a Mullins domination.
