Formscan By Mark Nunan - Smart hurdler JESSE EVANS was beaten half a length in this race last year and went down by the same margin to a useful 3-year-old over two miles at Thurles earlier this month. With a rating of 85 on the level, he sets the bar fairly high and is a horse with plenty of boot so coming back to this trip should help him. Vinland showed ability in a decent maiden at Roscommon when staying on well over 1m4f. He should be coming home well up the hill here and is open to plenty of improvement. Hallowed Star has been in good form over hurdles in recent months and the former bumper winner has a race fitness edge on the likes of Charli Parcs and Drop The Anchor who are higher rated in that sphere but have long lay-offs to overcome.
