Formscan By Tom Weekes - BEACON EDGE concedes plenty weight but is a former Grade 1-winner who retains nice ability and contests a winnable claimer. Winner of the 2021 Drinmore Chase, he was Grade 1-placed as recently as last December and, despite being an 11-year-old, has run some useful races in defeat this year. He should be fine dropping back to this distance and is ground-versatile. Must Meet Cecil is helped by his rider’s 5lb claim and while he landed a similar claimer at Tramore last month, was well held at Killarney subsequently. Six-time Redwood Queen would have strong claims on best form but was well held on a recent reappearance run.
