Caesar Rock a maiden no more after all the way Tramore win
Likable Chancer records second Tramore win for Howard
I've won on him before in Ballinrobe and I've ridden him plenty of times. He is a deadly spin and is a super jumper. He likes getting his own way out in front but they were kind of taking me on there today. In fairness he battled well, he was good and tough and needed to be. He is not overly big, so he liked the nice, tight track and gets around the bends well. His jumping is so good he can gain lengths. He is a great horse to ride and a great horse for Danny to have. The owners get a good kick out of it as well.
O'Keeffe doubles-up on Captain Ryan Matt
Tingarran Express a third winner of the week for in-form Torrens
She's brilliant. She likes all the up and down hill tracks. I decided to leave the hood off her today. I just worked her the other day and she gave me a much better feel. She always gives me a good feel, but this was a different feel without the hood. She's been an absolute star and has won three for us now. She'll probably go over a fence now. She is very small but she does pop a fence very well. She kind of wears her heart on her sleeve and Simon said to me today that he might just bounce out and make it and it worked. She is owned by fantastic people (the ISC Express Syndicate) and I'm very, very lucky to have them. One of them, Derek, is in Australia and he has been absolutely brilliant to me. I'm sure he's watching in today. She is an extremely special mare to us and our family at home as she came to us through sad circumstances.
Well-backed Kilmore Coral is another for Curling & Enright
Three wins inside a week for in-form Mephisto
The only thing I can think of is going up in trip. He ran over two-and-a-half at Sligo one day where he made a bad mistake and should have won. He works like a good horse at home and we always knew he kept a bit for himself on the Flat. His jumping was letting him down earlier on his career as well. He got a few terrible falls and I'd say he lost his confidence as well. We ran him in a few claimers and put him in for E8,000 and we just said if he goes, he goes. I kept telling the lads to get rid of him. He hadn't won since March of 2023 and I just told them to get something else. I knew he had ability and I said to bring him somewhere else either, to see would that work. Thank God neither of those options came to pass!. He is a lovely horse at home and any kid could ride him. He is just a pure rogue. He is handicapped over fences and can go back to Dundalk for those two-mile races as well. He won very easy today so maybe he will go to the next grade over hurdles. There is loads of options for him.
Alaskan View gives Jamie Martin dream start to riding career
I'm just so grateful to have the likes of my father and grandfather to give me the opportunity. My brother didn't want me on the horse, but my Dad had his way. I thought I was dreaming for a second. My brother wanted Barry Stone, he didn't think I'd be able. Barry rode her a few times and is a brilliant jockey. It all worked out in the end. I was talking to a few of the lads inside and I thought I was going to be making it, but there was a bit of competition for the lead and there was three horses upsides for nearly whole first round. I was tanking along so I let her off in front. She travelled along beautifully and heard Patrick (Mullins) coming near, but lengthened out unreal. I thought I was going to fall off near the end but I made it! I thought I was dreaming, I looked across and said to Patrick 'Did I win or not?' . I'm 17 and I'm going into fifth year in a few weeks. The plan was if I won this I'd retire with a 100% strike rate but I think I'll have to keep on going.
