THE HAYS TRAVEL: NOBODY OFFERS YOU MORE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 4) Permission was given for Beale Street (GB) to be mounted in the chute, for William Dewhirst (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start and for Ey Up Its Jazz (GB) to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong involving the winner, Beale Street (GB), ridden by Paul Mulrennan, and The Green Man (IRE), placed third, ridden by Luke Morris.
The interference was found to be accidental in that The Green Man (IRE) lugged slightly right- handed as a weakening William Dewhirst (IRE), unplaced, edged marginally left-handed resulting in Beale Street (GB) shifting left-handed away from the hindquarters of William Dewhirst (IRE) and subsequently giving a brush to The Green Man (IRE) which was moved slightly off its intended line.
Following the race, Rhys Elliott reported that Blufferonthebus (IRE), placed fourth, was slowly away.
