The winner, Zain Nights (GB) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Cheltenham on 13 March 2025, where the gelding was pulled up.
Lucy Wadham’s explanation that the gelding benefitted from the application of the first-time visor and a return to Newbury where it has run well in the past was noted.
The performance of Go To War (IRE), which started favourite and was pulled up, was considered.
It was noted that Nicky Henderson could offer no further explanation for the gelding’s poor performance, other than the report made by the Veterinary Officer during routine testing, that Go To War (IRE) was lame on its right-fore.
