I’m thrilled, and the horse deserved that more than anything. He’d run some fabulous races in defeat and the experience Tiernan got from riding him here the last day stood us in good stead for today. He just got there too soon the last day and it’s a very long straight. He gave him a super ride today. Even though we are doing well in the William Hill Series, that is our first winner in it so it’s nice to get that. The prize money in the series is great for the yard, the stable staff, the jockey and most of all for the trainer! The poor old trainer never gets a bob!. It’s a great incentive for everybody and fantastic that William Hill have got behind it. There are so many new initiatives being brought forward and the trainers' association had a part to play in the William Hill Series. I really think we need to distribute prize money a bit better and some of the money from the higher-tier races could be filtered down to the lower-tier races to encourage people that a horse can pay his way through the year.

He was tough and Donagh gave him a super ride. He jumped well and did everything right. He stayed well over hurdles, but they didn’t go much of a gallop there today and he did show a nice turn of foot. I’m not sure where we go now and we might jump in with the big boys in a graded race and see how we get on.

He’s a very difficult ride and it’s very hard to settle him. He jumped him out stone last. . Anthony rides him at home every day and knows him well. . Heavy ground is the secret to him. . He had a run over fences at Cork last season so we can go that route with him as well.
