Leaving the stalls, Crimson Blaze (GB), unplaced, jumped sharply left-handed hampering Texas Crown (GB), placed second, causing the gelding to be slowly into stride.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving, the winner, Havana Gift (GB), ridden by Warren Fentiman; Sheer Beauty (IRE), placed third, ridden by Dylan Hogan; Crimson Blaze (GB), unplaced, ridden by Finley Marsh.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Havana Gift (GB) as despite the filly drifting left-handed towards Sheer Beauty while coming with a challenging run up the outside, the contact with Sheer Beauty which caused the filly to be taken off her intended line and to be checked by the rider, occurred when Havana Gift (GB) was approximately half a length up and appeared to be going away to the line to win by half a length from Texas Crown (GB), second, which had come with a run up the outside and was not involved in the interference, with Sheer Beauty a further half a length back in third.
The Stewards could not be satisfied that had Sheer Beauty experienced an uninterrupted run to the line it would have finished in front of HAVANA CROWN, and therefore ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
Fentiman was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed without sufficient or timely correction, taking Sheer Beauty off its intended line and causing the rider to have to take a check, which resulted in Crimson Blaze (GB) becoming short of room and the rider having to take a significant check against the rail.
