An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the final bend involving the winner, Born At Midnight (GB), ridden by Harry Kimber and Head On (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Charlie Todd.
Bradley Harris, rider of Hilltown (IRE), placed second, was interviewed but found not to be involved.
The interference was found to be accidental in that as Kimber improved his position around Delgany Monarch (IRE), placed third, his mount stepped marginally right-handed causing Head On (IRE) to be tightened for room and clip the heels of Born At Midnight (GB).
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Hilltown (IRE), placed second, had lost its right- fore shoe.
Andy Irvine reported that FLEMEN’S TIPPLE (IRE), unplaced, was unsuited by the Soft, Good to Soft in places going on this occasion, which in his opinion was riding tacky.
