After jumping the last hurdle, the winner, War Lord (GER), drifted right-handed towards the rail whilst clear, causing Brilliant Light (GB), placed third, and Sun Joy (FR), placed fourth, to be switched to continue their run, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved, and that it had not improved the placing of War Lord (GER).
Following the race, Brendan Powell reported that the winner, War Lord (GER), hung right-handed after the final hurdle.
