THE CITY OF RIPON HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 3) Permission was given for Command The Stars (IRE) and Noelan Star (GER) to wear a red hood to post.
Masked Warrior (GB) wore earplugs that were removed at the start.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference from approaching 1 furlong out, involving the winner, Command The Stars (IRE), ridden by Darragh Keenan, Noelan Star (GER), placed second, ridden by Daniel Tudhope and Daydreama (GB), placed third, ridden by David Allan.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Command The Stars (IRE)'s placing as Noelan Star (GER) was carried off its intended line for a sustained period, which in turn caused Daydreama (GB) to also be moved off its intended line, which resulted in both placed horses to be beaten by two short heads into 2nd and 3rd place respectively, and therefore revised the placings as follows: 1st- Noelan Star (GER); 2nd- Daydreama (GB); 3rd- Command The Stars (IRE); 4th- Masked Warrior (GB).
Keenan was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he continually failed to take sufficient steps to prevent his mount from drifting left-handed, whist continuing to use his whip in his right hand.
