South Dakota scores a battling success at Roscommon

Pairc times it well under Lee

She just dropped into that (0-60) grade last week and I’m sure she’ll be back out of it again but we’ll find something similar,. They went very hard and is suited us from a bad draw. She broke well but Billy said they were going too hard so he let her slot in. He said it’s beautiful ground here and she just got there. There is only one winning post and I’m delighted. I’m delighted for Ciaran (O’Reilly). He’s a local man and they bred that filly as well. He’s a St Brigid’s (GAA) man here in Roscommon.

Caffrey proves cool on Goal

It was a great ride. He’s a tricky enough customer but has loads to ability,. I thought he was very good him because he jumped smart and was too keen. In fairness to Adam it was ballsy the way he took him back and buried him. If he had got beat they would have called him everything but it’s the only way to ride this fella. You just need to produce him right on the line, and he did that. He just loves passing horses. I couldn’t fault him, it was a great ride. Fair play to the boys (Breen and Martin White and Declan Sheridan) they are good supporters of mine.

Hazdann puts the three-year-olds in their place to win at Roscommon

It’s lovely to have him back in the winners’ enclosure again, he’s a grand horse and we’re all very fond of him,. It was a bit of a messy race but he’s done it well in the end. We’ll go back into stakes company with him next. A little more ease in the ground will be beneficial to him as well.

McCreery and Lee follow up with Miss Romagna at Roscommon

That was lovely. She’s my first runner for Giampiero Vellucci so I’m delighted. He was just on there and he’s absolutely thrilled. He’s a solicitor in Italy. She’s a big weak filly and the more time we gave her, the more she has strengthened up. She has always shown ability. I was a bit worried that the track here might be a bit tight for her. She was on the front end and Billy dictated. I thought he got it spot on. She met a bit of trouble the last day, but I think she was a bit weak and was wandering. Today, she had her ears pricked everywhere and was enjoying it. She’s not really a handicap-type filly. We’ll try and snatch a bit of black type with her. She’s a big filly and I don’t think she’ll suit handicaps, she’s not mentally there yet. Smaller fields will suit her.

Slattery brings his winning form to Roscommon

We don’t have her that long, about three months,. She was in England and wasn’t running well there, so they brought her back. She’s run well on every run for us and it was a good run in the Curragh the last day. I’m delighted to win for the lads, she’s after being in a lot of stables. He (Andrew) thought he was in front too soon. He said he wouldn’t hit the front again as soon, as she was idling a bit. I think she’ll go on soft ground too.

Priorstown wins well for Johnny Murtagh and Ben Coen
