In fairness to Adam it was ballsy the way he took him back and buried him. If he had got beat they would have called him everything but it’s the only way to ride this fella. You just need to produce him right on the line, and he did that. He just loves passing horses. I couldn’t fault him, it was a great ride. The Raceday Stewards interviewed S. Foley, rider of Punica Granatum, trained by Mrs John Harrington, concerning his riding on the run to the line where he appeared to ease his riding possibly losing out on fifth place as a result. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated he pulled his filly wide at the top of the straight to make her challenge and she started to pick up. However, at about the 100yrd marker her stride started to shorten and got worse as she got closer to the line. Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted the riders explanation with regards to R212(iv). However, they were satisfied the rider was in breach of R213 by failing to report in the first instance anything which may have affected his mounts running and having considered his clean record in this regard, they cautioned him on this occasion
