THE BLAST EVENT HIRE EBF RESTRICTED MAIDEN STAKES (CLASS 3) (for horses in Band D) (EBF Restricted Race Qualifier) (GBB RACE) An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately a furlong out involving Doha Rd (GB), unplaced, ridden by Kieran O'Neill; Zelen (GB), unplaced, ridden by William Pyle; Tree Wizard (GB), unplaced, ridden by William Cox.
Rhys Clutterbuck, the rider of Binfluencer (GB), unplaced, was interviewed and found not to be involved.
Cox was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift left-handed taking Doha Rd (GB) slightly off its intended line and causing it to make contact with Zelen (GB) who became briefly unbalanced.
This resulted in O’Neill’s mount being crowded for room between Zelen (GB) and Tree Wizard (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately a furlong out involving Terry O (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Dougie Costello, Top Cote (IRE), placed third, ridden by Pat Cosgrave and Ron's Angel (GB), placed second, ridden by Callum Hutchinson.
The interference was found to be accidental in that as RON’S ANGEL improved its position on the outside, the filly drifted marginally left-handed, before being corrected, intimidating Top Cote (IRE) slightly off its intended line which in turn caused Terry O (GB) to be tightened for room and become unbalanced against the rail.
Following the race, Tyler Heard reported that Sayidah Ardad (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed.
