THE BETWRIGHT BANGERS N' CASH HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5) Permission was given for Crazee Icon (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final 2 furlongs, when the winner Legacy Rock (IRE), ridden by Hollie Doyle, interfered with Crazee Icon (GB), placed second, ridden by Jason Watson.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Legacy Rock (IRE) as despite the gelding stepping right handed just inside the 2 furlong marker, causing the rider of Crazee Icon (GB) to ease momentarily and to switch right handed off the heels of Legacy Rock (IRE), Crazee Icon (GB) was able to continue with a run inside the final one and a half furlongs, heading Legacy Rock (IRE) approximately half a furlong out before being beaten a neck at the line.
The Stewards therefore ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
The interference was found to be accidental as approximately 2 furlongs out Legacy Rock (IRE) stepped quickly right- handed before being straightened.
Following the race, Pat Phelan reported that Upsomdowns (GB), unplaced, was unsuited by the Good to Firm, Good in places ground on this occasion and would prefer an easier surface.
