Permission was given for Bengali Boys (IRE) and Zapper Cass (FR) to go to post early.
An enquiry was held to consider why the stalls rug had failed to release from Gnaad (IRE), drawn 7, ridden by Darragh Keenan, resulting in the gelding racing for approximately one furlong before the rug fell off.
The Starter, Stalls Loader and the rider were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
They explained that the clasp attaching the rug to the rear stalls framework had broken and the front flap of the rug appeared to be stuck underneath the rider’s leg, preventing it from releasing; their explanations were noted.
