An enquiry was held to consider interference on the bend shortly after the start, involving the winner, Ocean Heights (GB), ridden by Jack Dace, V Twelve (IRE), placed second, ridden by Mohammed Tabti, Mariner (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Warren Fentiman, and Selwan (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Tommie Jakes.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice Dace was offered the opportunity to be accompanied but declined.
The interference was found to be accidental as when the pace steadied approaching the first bend, Selwan (IRE) ran onto the heels of Ocean Heights (GB) causing its rider to take a check, which in turn, caused the rider of the free running Mariner (IRE) to also take a check.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Mariner (IRE), placed fourth, lost its left-fore shoe.
