The Raceday Stewards interviewed J.C. Gainford, rider of World Of Fortunes, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who said he was riding in very close proximity to the horse on his right. He explained his mount had been jumping right throughout, can be cowardly at her hurdles and because of this he was concerned about interfering with that horse on his inside. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied the rider was in breach of R10.3(a)(incorrect place) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays
