Shortly after jumping the second hurdle in the back straight, Malakahna (FR), unplaced, shifted left- handed clipping the heels of Porticello (FR), which later fell, causing Malakahna (FR) to stumble, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of Washington (GB) which started second favourite and was pulled up, was considered.
Olly Murphy’s explanation that the gelding did not appear to face the hood on this occasion was noted.
Following the race, Paddy Brennan reported that Peking Rose (GB), unplaced, made a bad mistake at the third hurdle.
