THE MANOR CAR HIRE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 3) Permission was given for Dark Thirty (IRE) to go to post early and for Solar Aclaim (IRE) to go to post early wearing a red hood.
John & Sean Quinn, the trainers of Dark Thirty (IRE) were fined £140 as the reins were found not in serviceable condition, in that one of them snapped on the way to post.
The trainers’ representative and the Starter were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
An enquiry was held to consider interference entering the first bend involving We Never Stop (IRE), placed second, ridden by Tom Eaves, RUBY’S ANGEL (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by David Probert and the winner, Dark Thirty (IRE), ridden by Jason Hart.
The Stewards found the interference to be accidental as We Never Stop (IRE), which was initially racing in restricted room to the inside of Dark Thirty (IRE), then shifted left-handed away from that runner when racing awkwardly, causing Probert to take a check on Ruby's Angel (IRE).
Following the race, the Veterinary officer reported that Rosenpur (GER) placed sixth, lost its right- fore shoe.
