Permission was given for Falcon Nine (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Approximately one furlong after the start, the free-running Urban Road (GB), placed fourth, ran onto the heels of Kaaranah (IRE), unplaced, forcing the rider of Urban Road (GB) to take a check, resulting in Falcon Nine (GB), unplaced, becoming tight for room and its rider having to take a check.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong involving the winner, Sandret (IRE), ridden by Andrew Mullen and Kaaranah (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Daniel Muscutt.
Mullen was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he shifted Sandret (IRE) left-handed when insufficiently clear, giving a bump to Kaaranah (IRE) and taking it off its intended line.
Following the race, Paul Mulrennan reported that Alpine Sierra (IRE), placed fifth, was continually denied a clear run inside the final 1 ½ furlongs.

THE BETUK: IT'S WHERE THE UK BETS HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5) (DIV II) Inside the final half furlong, the winner, HUMBLE SPARK (IRE), hung left-handed causing RUSSIAN VIRTUE, placed fourth, to be caught on its heels and eased slightly.
After a viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of HUMBLE SPARK (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 ½ furlongs out involving RAINWATER, placed third, ridden by Warren Fentiman and RUSSIAN VIRTUE, placed fourth, ridden by Sean Kirrane.
Being a 7lb claimer, Fentiman was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Fentiman was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed RAINWATER to drift right-handed when insufficiently clear, causing Kirrane to take a precautionary check aboard RUSSIAN VIRTUE.
