Love claims Tramore opener for Elliott and Ewing
Quick double for Ewing on Dinoland
I don’t have him that long. He won a couple of races for John McConnell and he has mostly northern owners. It’s taken me a couple of runs to find the key to him but he seems to be in good form now anyway. Good ground and a jump is probably the key to him. It took me four hours getting here today and it will be a wee bit shorter going home anyway!
Menas Miracle strikes for Walsh
If she stays in that kind of company it would be grand. It’s hard to keep her right,. said Walsh. There are a lot of horses like that for these sharp tracks. The man that had her, Peter Aspell, was only buried two weeks ago. His son took the mare over. It’s sad that she didn’t win for him two weeks ago in Wexford but I’d say he was driving her on tonight. She’ll go for another one of those races now somewhere on good ground.
Le Roi Du Livet makes Hayes's journey worthwhile
He’s a lovely horse. It took him a long time to get his head in front,. said Fenton. He looked to be going terribly easy through the race and I thought he was going to win very impressively but he didn’t kill himself in front. I’d say he has a future and he seems to be very slick at his hurdles. We’ll go again before we rough him off. He was just chinned on the line here in his bumper so that was the idea of coming back here. He is for sale. He’s a lovely, well balanced, active sort of horse. He’ll be okay.
Liberated Light lands the spoils at Tramore
Butch Coolidge gives Hayes an across-the-card treble
He’s a year older now and it (improvement) goes with that family,. said Kelly. A hood was a big help to him as well, he just lost his race at the start a few days last year. I’m delighted for the lads, the horse was working really well at home and we would have been disappointed going home if he didn’t go close. You never know with racehorses, I had a horse that we liked a lot in Listowel today and it just didn’t happen for him. He’s a nice horse, jumps well and jumps a fence well. We’re starting the season on the right note. He won it with a nice bit in hand. We entered him in it thinking it might be a worse race but it wasn’t the worst race in the world for an ‘unplaced maiden’. I’m delighted and very grateful to the lads for sending on these horses.
Gortnaclea Castle gains deserved success
She’s a very good filly. They have been good horses that have beat her,. said Quigley. In Clonmel when she finished fifth she was in season the next morning. The last day she backed it up and today she put it all to bed. She digs deep. Hopefully now she’ll go on to bigger and better things. We’ll have to go for a maiden hurdle with her now, we’ll give her a little bit of a break. I’d say she’ll go on any ground. She has a bit of size to her and she’s a well-bred filly. Hopefully she can improve again. Hopefully we can get her name in the paper somewhere on a big day.
