Arouet breaks new ground for in-form Twomey
He did it very well, improved from his experience the last day and it was a good performance. Dan was delighted with him, he jumped and travelled well and said if he hadn't gotten so close to the last, he felt he would have won easier. Paddy was keen to go jumping with this horse during the winter and while he wasn't over-schooled, the experience should bring him on. I'd say running both over hurdles and on the Flat is the plan for the summer.

Local News shocks at Cork
to be honest, she hasn’t been showing anything - definitely not! . She is a companion for another younger horse at home and everyone rides this mare, including my wife Stephanie, my dad and sister. She is a very pleasant mare but that was very unexpected. I suppose she is a six-year-old getting to the races for the first time, so had that bit of experience from home under her belt. She kept getting small niggly injuries which kept knocking her out, but they were nothing serious. Her companion at home was actually due to run in Killarney yesterday but we had bad news when on arrival at the course as the IHRB couldn’t find his microchip, so he wasn’t allowed to run. We’ll get that sorted, go again and, after today, it looks like he can’t be too bad!. This mare is for sale, although there aren’t many who like to buy small mares!. My father Joseph always had a few winners and I’m farming now so took out my trainers’ license a year-and-a-half ago. We are dairy farmers and keep a few horses as a hobby.

she did it well and was good and gutsy from the back of the last. I have to give a big shout to Jordan Gainford who is his ride normally but he got a nasty fall (fracturing a vertebrae) in Punchestown. I’m very friendly with Jordan so he filled me in on how to ride this mare. That’s my first winner for Peter (Flood) who I ride work for when I get a chance, so I’m delighted for him.
Aine brings up Mullins double with debut win in the bumper
Like our filly on Friday (Culldoo, who finished third) she was also green and needed the whole length of the straight but was well on top at the finish. Some of our summer bumper horses are needing the experience more than other years but she was a great ride and loves the game. She has a great pedigree, is related to Annie Power, and also has a Flat pedigree. To me, she rode like a mare who could go out in trip in time and is a decent-sized mare. I don't ride the fillies at home, and this one is bigger than I thought she looked, and rides like that as well. It is great for the Fitzgeralds, who have a nice team going forward.
