THE REACH FLOWER POD SOUTHWELL HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 4) Permission was given for LOVELY SPIRIT (IRE) to go early to post, and for FONDO BLANCO, PHILANTHROPIST, ROGUE DIPLOMAT (IRE) and NATIVE INSTINCT to wear a red hood to post.
Just inside the final two furlongs, the winner, ROGUE DIPLOMAT (IRE), shifts quickly right-handed before being corrected, taking PHILANTHROPIST, placed third, slightly off its intended line and causing it to steady, and LOVELY SPIRIT (IRE), unplaced, to become unbalanced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved, and that it had not improved the placing of ROGUE DIPLOMAT (IRE).
Following the race, Daniel Muscutt reported that PHILANTHROPIST, placed third, suffered interference approximately two furlongs out.
