Permission was given for Aye Spyed (GER) to go early to post and for both Rampant (GB) and Absolutely Not (IRE) to wear red hoods to post.
Approaching the first bend, Aye Spyed (GER), unplaced, jinked right-handed towards the exit, giving a bump to Anticipating (GB), unplaced, who was carried wide as a result, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approaching 2 furlongs out, Absolutely Not (IRE), unplaced, shifted quickly right-handed away from the whip, moving L'immortale (IRE), placed third, off its intended line, shortly after this, Absolutely Not (IRE) then edged left-handed and became unbalanced as a result, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of Sunset In Paris (IRE), which finished tenth of eleven runners, beaten by 21¼ lengths was considered.
J R Jenkins could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
The Veterinary Officer examined Sunset In Paris (IRE) post-race during routine testing and had nothing to report.
Following the race, Jonny Peate reported that Morlaix (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run 2 furlongs out and Dylan Hogan reported that L'immortale (IRE), placed third, was denied a clear run 2 furlongs out.
