The Stewards enquired into possible interference just after the bend into the home straight involving Bean Feasa (GB), ridden by K.J. Manning, placed 6th, Hydrangea, ridden by P.B. Beggy, placed third and Rehana, ridden by P.J. Smullen, placed fifth, where it appeared Bean Feasa ran short of room and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Rehana had caused interference to Bean Feasa (GB), and in doing so had improved her finishing finishing position in relation to Bean Feasa. The Stewards therefore reversed the placings of fifth and sixth placed fillies. Furthermore the Stewards were of the opinion that P.J. Smullen was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his previous good record in this regard, the Stewards suspended him for one raceday. P.J. Smullen, rider of Rehana trained by M.Halford, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran keen early on and stopped quickly.
