I was just saying to the owners, Sophie and John (Barrett) before the race, that since he has been gelded, he has definitely settled down. Beforehand, he was sweating and things before the race. He has (plenty of pace) and he will be alright. Five (furlongs) on goodish ground is probably sharp enough for him. No (didn't mind the rain), only sorry we didn't have a bit more, but anyway he got away with it. He did (everything right in the race today) and I suppose a stiff five or an easy six is probably his thing. He enjoys it here and won as a two-year-old here.

I was giving out about Leigh a furlong down, he was being held up, but sure it is the way he finished. He loves that stiff five (furlongs) here. He has run well every time he has ran here. We reared him and he has been on the farm a long time, and he has owed us that. We have been persistent. I had him in a claimer and I took him out because I said he will win one, and I didn't want to lose him. He's a big, strong boy and he is only learning his trade now. I just thought with the blinkers, the minute he didn't see a horse, he stopped. He rocketed home, so I am going to keep the cheekpieces!

Jon Riggens back to winning ways for Lynam

I wouldn't be an optimistic sort of a fella and I fancied Jon Riggens on Wednesday. He's on 71, and Sarah (Lynam, daughter) rode him out on Friday morning and said he was in great form. We declared him and then Ocean's Breath won (Fairyhouse, Friday) and I said that won't be in, so we'll run him. All the people I told to back him on Wednesday, you couldn't back him today at 7/2!

We had her in the sale last year and we weren't getting what we wanted for her. We took her back and the plan was to try and win a stakes race and maybe go back there (sales). As you see, she is a gorgeous, big filly. She has plenty of size and plenty of substance. She will make into a nice broodmare someday. To win my first black-type race here and to have the 1-2 as well is unbelievable!. You just have to move on (from Magny Cours incident in the Irish 1,000 Guineas) - I'll stop when the clock does, and the clock doesn't stop! You have to move on. Life always challenges you no matter what you do. The horses were taking a run, and they went through a bit of a patch when they just weren't firing. We just weren't happy, so we took a pull until we were happy with them and they started to come. They started to come in their coats the last two weeks and started to work a bit better. I was telling the owners that the last ten days I was really happy with the horses. That was great there today and I couldn't imagine it working out like that. It is magical really.

He's been very consistent, very genuine. We were coming racing here today and saying we have had maybe 12 or 14 seconds and thirds for Sean Dalton (owner), so it was about time we got our head in front for him!. We thought that he arrived there in Roscommon the last day to put the race to bed, and then just parked the bus a bit. We decided today just to switch things around a bit, put the visor on him and just make him gallop to the line. Patrick and I had a good chat before the race we decided we would try and get something to drag us to even the half furlong pole or so. He gave him a great ride, he kind of had him in a little pocket, and he kind of fought. It was a really good ride. He's a horse that had a lot of trouble - leg trouble, knee trouble. He's been like a small hospital, to be honest. It has been a long time since we had a winner, but it is great to get it.

Jurality finally gains a deserved win

He has been fierce unlucky. The boys went to Ffos Las and everywhere with him. We decided to do his wind this year, and he has progressively got more confidence. He ran into one twice there (Leopardstown and Down Royal). I know he was only third in Leopardstown, but he tried to catch the Mullins horse (winner Masego, Mags Mullins). The horse (Our Lucky Lady in Down Royal) the last day I think was very well-handicapped. Things just went smoothly today and we are only learning how to ride him now; we were always holding him up. I think he just likes to be let at it. Very pleased with him and I'm delighted he won because he deserves it.
