Permission was given for Spirit Of Breeze (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start and for Happy Chandler (GB) to go early to post wearing a red hood.
Oliver Carmichael, the rider of Happy Chandler (GB), drawn 8, was slow to remove the blindfold resulting in his horse being slow to start.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Carmichael’s explanation that the blindfold took several attempts to remove was noted.
Following the race, Joe Bradnam reported that Never Dream (IRE), placed fourth, was slowly away.
