An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, Lunar Force (GB), ridden by Sean Kirrane; Lima Sierra (GB), placed second, ridden by Alex Jary, Westgate Warrior (GB), placed third, ridden by Lewis Edmunds.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Lunar Force (GB)’s placing as the filly shifted right-handed making contact with Lima Sierra (GB) on several occasions and taking the filly several horse widths off its intended line.
The Stewards considered that the ground and momentum lost by Lima Sierra (GB) as a consequence of the interference was greater than the distance of a head at the line and therefore revised the placings as follows 1st: Lima Sierra (GB), 2nd: Lunar Force (GB), 3rd: Westgate Warrior (GB), 4th: Early Release (GB).
Kirrane was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without sufficient correction, firstly carrying WESTAGTE WARRIOR off its intended line resulting in the gelding to be short of room then subsequently causing interference to Lima Sierra (GB).
