Velvet Vulcan (GB) trained by Mike Murphy had entered the Parade Ring after the signal to mount had been given.
After being interviewed, Murphy’s representative’s explanation that the gelding is difficult to both saddle and fit its tongue tie and as a result of that the saddling boxes were not an option on this occasion, was accepted.
Following the race, Hollie Doyle reported that Velvet Vulcan (GB), placed fifth, was slowly away and was unsuited by the slow pace of the race.
