See also » Dont Go Yet lands Wexford feature under Sarah Kavanagh I couldn't see Philip Fenton's horse (One Big Boum) being beaten and I thought Philip Rothwell's horse (Give Him A Chance) had a good chance too. This lad has been on the go along time and I brought him here and thought it might be the last time he'll ever run over a hurdle. He's 12 and it's coming towards the end of the season and I'm not going to run him on very fast ground. I thought he might enjoy today, with a bit of an ease in the ground. The veterans race is on here in about a months time and he could come back for that. He is nearly better over fences than he is over hurdles. We'll see how things are at the time. Sarah is in with us three days a week. She is very obliging and if we are stuck, she'll come in. Thank God we've got a winner for her anyway. Edward Cawley, trainer
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident coming down the hill on the first circuit involving Becasse, ridden by D.J. O'Keeffe, Give Him A Chance, ridden by T. Power Roche, and Dont Go Yet, ridden by Sarah Kavanagh where it appeared Give Him A Chance came down on the flat. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. T
Power Roche stated that his mount either took a false step or stood on himself and he didn't feel any contact from the horses in front of him. D.J. O'Keeffe stated that he wasn't aware of the horse coming down until he saw the loose horse. Sarah Kavanagh stated that she wasn't aware of the horse coming down behind her. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action
P.M. O'Brien, rider of Digby, trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled
