Mono River claims first success
Echo Of Faith scores for Harrington and Foley
both the step up in trip and giving him a bit of extra time helped, because he’s a big horse. I went at him thinking he was a Lucky Vega so would be early (maturing), but my horses are only coming to themselves now. I think they are really starting to come to themselves. He has a great attitude, will probably stay a mile and likes that nice ground. We’ll see what mark he gets, he can’t be more than 75 or 80.
Second success for Roscommon-regular
Colin said he thought he was lame pulling up, so hopefully he’s alright. We’ll have to go and have a look at him. Hopefully he’s okay. He was a bit fresh today more than anything and it might just have told on him a little bit at the end. but he got home and that’s the main thing. The race was kind of made up for him and it’s great to have those races for horses that cost a little less money. He’s run three times here and won twice, so he’s a nice little horse and has done well. The second (Giovanni Giorgio) was obviously well fancied and they both pulled a long way clear of the third.
Alpha Centauri's third foal wins at Roscommon
it’s great to get her a win and she did it easily. She ran at the Curragh and took a blow that day. We’ve been waiting for a seven furlong or mile fillies maiden with her, that’s her distance. She’s got a touch of class. I want to get black-type but hopefully they might keep her in training next year. She’s a big filly and she’ll only keep on improving.
Free Solo registers sixth success
Amo adds to recent purple patch
he has improved plenty and Sam said there is still a bit improvement in him, he said he was a little bit green there around the bends. He won easy and is a nice horse going forward. We’ll see what the handicapper does and make a plan from there.
Kool One bags last-gasp success in finale
he was good and Jimmy (James Ryan) was cool!. Galway didn’t work out, he got trapped wide everywhere but we thought he had a chance going here. We were worried the ground might have dried out today but he got there in the end. On his hurdles form he looked to be on a nice mark. He has matured a helluva lot. Last season we went to Cheltenham and were unlucky to unseat and then went to Fairyhouse but probably should have let him off after Cheltenham. He’s after growing and maturing an awful lot so we took our time bringing him back. Galway didn’t work out but today did and the Lartigue Hurdle (at Listowel) is the plan. There is a maiden hurdle at Wexford next week so he might go there or else straight to the Lartigue.
