Permission was given for both Nellie French (IRE) and Secret Equity (GB) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference shortly after the start involving Swooper (GB), unplaced, ridden by Joey Haynes; the winner, Porfin (IRE), ridden by Hollie Doyle; Naughty Ana (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Andrew Mullen; Secret Equity (GB), unplaced, ridden by Sam James; Della Mare (GB), placed second, ridden by Mollie Phillips; Royal Heart (FR), placed third, ridden by Daniel Tudhope; Nellie French (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jason Hart; Lorna Cole (IRE), placed seventh, ridden by Luke Morris; and Miss Connaisseur (GB), placed eighth, ridden by Jamie Gormley.
In the first incident, Phillips was suspended for 10 days for careless riding as she angled left-handed when not fully clear initially carrying Naughty Ana (IRE) off its intended line causing Mullen to have to take a precautionary check, before continuing on a left-handed trajectory when not clear of runners to her inside, causing Porfin (IRE) to be badly tightened for room onto Royal Heart (FR), which had to be significantly checked by Tudhope when forced toward the rail and in turn resulted in Hart having to severely check Nellie French (IRE) in order to avoid clipping heels.
In the second incident, the interference was found to be accidental in that Naughty Ana (IRE), when becoming unbalanced, edged left-handed at the same time as Secret Equity (GB) took a keen hold into a partial gap to its inside, causing Miss Connaisseur (GB), Lorna Cole (IRE), and Swooper (GB) to all be badly hampered when left short of room.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Swooper (GB), unplaced, lost its right-fore shoe.
