Ma Belle Etoile off the mark over fences in style
We were disappointed with her at Tramore. We hoped we had her back right, which we did thankfully, and I'm delighted for all her connections. She just didn't seem to be 100% at Tramore, but I'm delighted to see her do that today. She's always looked a promising mare. We might enter her in the race at Galway next week (Guinness Open Gate Brewery Novice Chase). It's a blacktype novice chase and it would be great if she could get blacktype. She is a gorgeous looking mare, so it would make her even more valuable as a broodmare going forward. We'll give her the entry, but it's not a firm plan.
War Correspondent causes upset in Beginners' Chase
On ratings and previous form over hurdles he had a lot to find, but he has always been a horse with a lot of ability and if the fences sparked him up at all we were hopeful of a good run and they did. He jumped brilliant for a horse on his first run over fences, he really enjoyed himself today and galloped out strongly. That's only my third ride since turning professional and it's great to get it. Gary Cribbin is my agent and I'm with Joseph O'Brien five mornings a week and go to Kieran Purcell as well, so I'm trying away. I'm 19 and rode five winners as an amateur, three on the track and two in point-to-points.

I'm delighted with that, he was tough out and Darragh gave him a super ride. It looked like he was beaten turning in, but he just really ground it out. I think he did similar in his maiden hurdle here last year when Rachael won on him. He likes it here and it's brilliant to get one for the Brookhouse's. It was a good run the last day and he made a mistake at the third last that really took him out of it. I'd say this sort of staying track suits him better. I've no plan for him but he could maybe go to Tramore next for a race over two-mile six. It's been a brilliant day. Any day you get a winner is a good day, but to have three is even better.
