Lupini's sprinter not for Passing
Ten up at Dundalk for McCourt's Prince
I didn't think we went overly mad early doors and I just carefully kept the revs up on him coming around the bend. In fairness, once he got to the front he just started pricking his ears and it probably helped that Chris (Hayes, Plushy) came across me just for something to battle with. Feels like a while back (since riding Inishmot Prince as a 10lb claimer), he has been unbelievable and runs his race every day. It is great to get another one on him. He's a right oul horse, he's a lovely horse to train and very simple to do things with. He had never worked like a sprinter - like he is in a race, he is always behind the bridle. He was coming down to a great mark and I thought he would take a lot of beating today. I was a bit disappointed the last day, he doesn't like getting boxed up in behind horses. James gets on serious well with him. Once he got to the furlong pole upsides, he does his best work coming home. He does have a little issue with his hind heels, which keeps flaring up on us, but when he gets into that kind of form he is very effective up here. Hopefully the handicapper won't be too hard on him and we get another one out of him in the winter.
Lupini & Lordan double up at Dundalk
Wayne is always quite good when we have a bad draw, we are always quite confident that he can get out of trouble anyway. She looks like she is improving. We only got her in the autumn from an online sale. She only had two runs in England and then one for us as well. She was maybe still a little bit weak, she's a big filly and we think she is now probably starting to develop. She found her level today and hopefully she improves. Wayne was saying she was lovely and relaxed. They did a great job riding her out and they got her to relax at home as well as she could be a bit keen. Lovely and relaxed today. Wayne said she could go for a mile as well.
Exquisite Acclaim records seventh Dundalk success
A horse like him, he's very consistent - he always gets his couple of races. It is great to get him back in front. He's a great fun horse and he pays his way. There's a race in Newcastle next week, it is 35 grand, and we might slip into it. It is for 0-85s, I think. We'll have to see with the ratings, but we might go there.
One-two for Joseph as Porter floors favourite
Fahey's filly shows some fancy footwork on debut
The race wasn't run to suit her at all because they went very steady and she had to come from behind. She got checked as well too, up the straight, and lost a bit of momentum. I'd say this one is pretty decent. I know it probably wasn't the strongest race, but all she could do was win and there is going to be loads of improvement in her. She could be for sale too and she is definitely going to go down the jumping route as well. Big, strong filly and she is one to look forward to.
Bloodless success for Flynn's Screamer
