The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the latter stages of this race involving Bal De Rio (FR), ridden by D. King, placed second, and Must Meet Cecil, ridden by C.P. Millar, placed first, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. King stated that he received intimidation from Must Meet Cecil, up the straight which he felt cost his mount momentum going forward. C. P. Millar stated that he received contact from Bal De Rio, between the second last and last hurdle and in his opinion he was holding his line from there after. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while interference did take place, Must Meet Cecil did not improve his position as a result of this and therefore made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.
D. King, rider of Bal De Rio (FR), trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount suffered intimidation from three furlongs out
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Jungle Prose, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be coughing post race.
