After jumping the third last hurdle Emberscombe(IRE), unplaced, shifted right-handed taking Marley Head (IRE), unplaced, off its intended line onto Hunting Percival (GB), which was pulled up, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Harry Cobden reported that Hunting Percival (GB), which was pulled up, was never travelling; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Hunting Percival (GB) during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The Veterinary Officer also reported that Marley Head (IRE), unplaced, lost both hind shoes and Turpin Gold (GB), placed fourth, lost its left-fore shoe.
