The winner, Son Of Astar (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Chester on 13 June 2025 where the gelding finished twelfth of twelve runners, beaten by 14¾ lengths.
Tony Carroll’s explanation that Son Of Astar (GB) had benefited from a step down in trip and a drop in grade on this occasion, was noted.
The gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Finley Marsh reported that Off The Bench (GB), placed fifth, was slowly away.
