THE SKY SPORTS RACING SKY 415 HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) (DIV II) Permission was given for both Mini Mac (IRE) and Diligent Henry (GB) to wear a red hood to the start and for Piddie's Pearl (GB) to go early to the start.
No Gain (GB), trained by Adam Kirby, failed to enter the Parade Ring.
Being satisfied that this was due to the jockey being late to weigh out having been in the previous race which was late off, no further action was taken.
On Key (GB) made contact with the rail leaving the parade ring.
Having been checked at the start by the Veterinary Surgeon, the gelding was deemed fit to race.
Taryn Langley, the rider of No Gain (GB), placed second, beaten by a short head for first place had appeared to briefly stop riding on the run to the line before recommencing with a hands and heels ride through to the finish.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Langley explained that No Gain (GB) was hanging notably left-handed under pressure and was proving difficult to ride out.
The Stewards were satisfied that No Gain (GB) had appeared to lose no discernible momentum as a result of Langley’s actions and the winner, Bizarre Law (GB), had finished strongly coming from behind No Gain (GB) and looked to be holding that runner at bay in the final strides.
Therefore, no further action was taken.
Approximately ½ a furlong after start Summer Rain (GB), unplaced, lugged left-handed away from Diligent Henry (GB), unplaced, causing rider Mini Mac (IRE), placed fourth, to take a significant check tightened for racing room, who in turn hampered War Memorial (GB), unplaced, which resulted in the rider of Piddie's Pearl (GB), unplaced, to take a check when short of room.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Paddy Bradley reported that Zu Run (GB), unplaced, jumped right-handed from the stalls.
Mikkel Mortensen reported that Create (IRE), unplaced, was restless in the stalls.
Daniel Muscutt reported that Eulalia (GB), unplaced, suffered interference leaving the stalls.
William Pyle reported that Piddie's Pearl (GB), unplaced, hung left-handed.
