He’s taken really well to fences beating Melon in a beginners’ event at Navan before landing the Grade 1 Drinmore at Fairyhouse. The five-year-old was squeezed for room at a vital stage last time and perhaps Mark Walsh may now commit a bit further out. Notebook hasn’t put a foot wrong in three starts over fences and deserves the utmost respect, while Bapaume jumped well when scoring at Naas last time. He may prove the pick of the Mullins-trained quartet as Melon, the best over hurdles, hasn’t looked a natural chaser so far. Cash Back has forced the pace on both chase starts and is another that will ensure a fast run race.
