Permission was given for Crown Board (IRE), Lexington Belle (IRE) and Surrey Shadow (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
The performance of Surrey Shadow (GB), which finished last of nine runners, beaten 64 ½ lengths, was considered.
It was noted that Tom Clover could offer no further explanation for the gelding’s poor performance other than the report from Sean Dylan Bowen that Surrey Shadow (GB) never travelled.
The Veterinary Officer examined the gelding post-race during routine testing and found Surrey Shadow (GB) to have an irregular heartbeat.
Leaving the stalls, Blue For You (IRE), unplaced, stumbled and gave a bump to Crimson Spirit (GB), placed fourth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approximately two furlongs out, Native American (IRE), placed second, shifted right-handed before being corrected by its rider, resulting in Physique (IRE), unplaced, being taken slightly off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Native American (IRE).
Following the race, Daniel Tudhope reported that Blue For You (IRE), unplaced, stumbled leaving the stalls.
