The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P. l. Malone, that Mr R. W. Barron, rider of Quinta Brigada, had presented to weigh out at 2lbs overweight none of which had been declared at declaration time. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that this was the case and apologised. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards allowed Mr. R. W. Barron to ride Quinta Brigada on this occasion but were satisfied that he was in breach of Rule 198 (vii) (a) and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards fined Mr. R. W. Barron €150 on this occasion
