The Raceday Stewards requested a report from E. D. Delany, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Escaping Thejungle, placed first, as compared with its recent run. Alan Delany authorised representative for the trainer, reported that his mount didn't handle a quicker surface on his previous run. He also added that his charge has a liking for this track. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted its content
C.D. Hayes, rider of Best Suggestion, trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he took a precautionary check close to the line.
