I suppose the handicapper gave him a good oul chance there. He ran plenty over the winter and just was falling short. He's after dropping down to a nice mark now. Nicola is a great rider and she is very strong in the likes of those races, so it is great to get her. He'll have to switch to turf with the way things are. With him, I think things just have to fall his way. He's probably not one that battles and makes things happen. He'll tip away on turf.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Peter Fahey, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Alto Sax, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Paul Harrison, Authorised Representative for the trainer reported that his charge had been dropped down to a winning mark and that things fell right for him today. Riders - Apprentices who hold an Apprentice Licence under Rules of Racing issued by any recognised Turf Authority and who have not lost the right to claim the 5lb allowance (65 winners).
