Many trainers switch horses between codes to good effect and the back from hurdling Defining Year (polytrack debut) travelled like a dream, last of the four runners, before swooping to triumph in the concluding Save Greyhound Racing At Wimbledon Race. The win was bringing up a double for Pat Smullen at Dundalk following his earlier success on Strategic Heights.

Following on from the Irish double on the polytrack yesterday with Shane Donohoe's Star Links and Denis Hogan's Amazing Star, at Wolverhampton, there was further joy for raiders from the Emerald Isle cross-channel today with a brace up in Scotland at Ayr.

Curtis & Hogan combine for Amazing success

Amazing Star made it two from two for Irish trained runners at Wolverhampton today, the Denis Hogan trained gelding winning the Ladbrokes Handicap under Ben Curtis (Star Links won earlier on the card for Shane Donohoe).
